I have always loved rivalries – in state, out of state – the high stakes, the heated crowd, competitive atmosphere …ooh I love it. Once I pulled in SHA’s parking lot and saw that I had to park way beyond the gymnasium, I knew it was going to be a fun night.
How I love the sport of volleyball…but shooting it is a completely different story. I was asked to shoot at least one set of the game tonight which I was glad because with the amount of people in the gym (and volleyball being hard enough to shoot already) I wasn’t feeling the ‘gotta get great photos’ vibe. Which is fine, we all have our nights right? Usually, I stand up against the bleachers along the wall and try to shoot as high as possible. However, tonight, the lovely crowd of parents and grandparents stole my spot – so now what?
Left the floor – nah.. I wasn’t feeling dangerous enough tonight to get as close to the action as possible and my luck I’d be hit by the ball after being spiked.
So I settled. I stayed on the bleachers and slightly moved around to get the edits that I did. Overall, for the time I was there, I am happy with my stuff.
