I didn’t think much could beat the thriller of an ending like the Dutch Fork – Saint X triple overtime game, but the game between Trinity and Saint Xavier (Cinci) was definitely close.
Trinity had not led the entire game and it seemed a lot – 29 consecutive wins and a 4-0 start in the season – was on the line. The home crowd spent most of the night chanting ‘Defense’ with the opposing team dominating the time of possession. It came down to an 80-yard drive, and a 3-yard go-ahead touchdown with 29.7 seconds left on the clock for the Shamrocks to take their first lead of the night.
A lead that would seal the deal.
The Rocks travel to Indianapolis on Friday to participate in the Clash of the Titans showcase and will face Cathedral at Lucas Oil Stadium. The game will even be televised on ESPN2. Guess who gets to shoot it
I have to say that my one of my (I don’t want to say best) but favorite fun photos came from this game – and definitely has become one of the favorites of my fans on Facebook It wasn’t the game winning touchdown shot, or even a hard hit by Jason Hatcher. It actually was before the first kickoff. L.T. Thomas has a pregame ritual that took a little practice to get the right shot… but I think I finally got it…
